About Me

I believe that therapy begins with feeling genuinely heard, understood and accepted.

My approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative. I feel privileged to hear the stories and struggles of the people I work with, and I aim to create a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgement.

I am a qualified psychotherapist with an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy and I am a Pre-Accredited Member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

My professional training has given me a broad range of therapeutic approaches, while my own life experiences have also given me a particular understanding of grief, loss, relationships, significant life transitions and neurodiversity to name but a few.

I bring that experience with care and awareness, while keeping the focus firmly on you, your experiences and what you need from therapy.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what's wrong, or even knowing what you want from therapy. We can explore that together.

My Psychology Today Profile

Why Sanara?

A space where you can be yourself

Therapy isn't about being told what you should do.

It's about having the time and space to understand yourself, your experiences and the things that may be getting in the way of living the life you want.

I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.

You don't need to perform. You don't need to have the right words. You can simply come as you are.

How I Work

Therapy shaped around you

No two people come to therapy for exactly the same reason, and no two people experience their difficulties in quite the same way.

I work from a person-centred and pluralistic approach, which means that I don't believe therapy should be something you simply fit yourself into.

We begin by understanding you - your experiences, your circumstances and what you hope to get from therapy.

From there, we can draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. As well as taking a person-centered approach, we might include elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and a host of other integrative approaches.

The work is collaborative. We can regularly reflect together on what is helping, what isn't, and what you need as therapy progresses.

You don't need to know what type of therapy you need. That's something we can work out together.

How I Can Help

Perhaps your mind never seems to switch off. You may find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking or trying to keep everything under control.

Therapy can provide space to understand what's happening beneath the anxiety and explore ways of responding that feel more manageable.

Grief can affect every part of our lives, and there is no single way to experience loss.

Whether your loss is recent or happened many years ago, therapy can offer a safe space to explore grief, the changes that come with it and the process of rebuilding a life around what has happened.

I have particular experience and personal understanding of significant bereavement and complicated grief and can help you along the road to recovery.

Some of life's biggest challenges aren't necessarily things that have gone wrong.

A relationship ending, children growing up, changes in identity, work or family life, or simply reaching a point where you realise that something needs to change can all leave us feeling uncertain about what comes next.

Therapy can give you space to pause, reflect and explore what you want for the next chapter.

Receiving an ADHD or other neurodivergence diagnosis can bring relief and understanding, but it can also bring questions.

You may be looking back at your life differently, trying to understand patterns that previously didn't make sense, or wondering how to navigate relationships, work and everyday life in a way that works better for you.

I take a neuroaffirmative approach, supporting adults who are exploring, adjusting to or seeking greater understanding of their neurodivergence.

Our relationships can sometimes bring up patterns, emotions and beliefs about ourselves that are difficult to understand.

Therapy can offer an opportunity to explore relationships, boundaries, confidence, self-worth and the ways we relate to both ourselves and others.

There are times when the things that once helped us cope simply don't seem to work anymore.

You may feel depleted, disconnected, exhausted or unsure how to move forward.

Therapy can provide space to understand what you're experiencing and explore new ways of coping and caring for yourself.

You may not see yourself on this list. That's okay.

Sometimes you simply know that something doesn't feel right, or that you don't want to keep dealing with things in the same way.

You don't need a diagnosis or a perfectly formed explanation to get in touch.

We can start with what's happening for you now.

What To Expect

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. You may not know exactly what you want to talk about, or even where to begin.

Step 1. Get in touch

Send me a message or use the contact form to enquire about therapy. You don't need to have everything figured out , just let me know a little about what has brought you here.

Step 2. Free 15-minute consultation

We'll arrange a brief, free 15-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you're looking for, ask any questions you may have, and for you to get a sense of me and how I work.

Step 3. Begin your therapy journey

If we both feel that working together could be a good fit, we'll arrange your first appointment. Therapy sessions are generally held weekly, where possible, to provide continuity and support as we work together.
